The essential feature of the Cape Fynbos Shrubland is the presence of the reedlike RESTIOIDS, with the ERICOID and PROTEOIDS also being important. This shrubland is found on the mountains and lowlands with the vegetation structure being determined by the nutrient poor soils, climate and fire.
