Science-Link attempts to provide a platform to combine the efforts of scientists, researchers, academics, technologists and educators with the promotion of Science and Technology through real interaction and collaboration with learners, using the Internet. These technologies facilitate contact between learners and experts. Science-Link takes advantage of this opportunity to develop a platform onto which distant experts could become mentors of learners. It hopes that in this way the human dimension that is often neglected in the promotion of science and technology could be enhanced.

Science-Link hopes that the interaction between learners and 'real' scientists, made possible by Internet technologies, will ultimately demystify the fields of Science and Technology.

This project makes an on-line directory / profile of specialists and educators available, which learners then browse depending on their information needs. Learners could then interact and correspond with specialists on a one-to-one basis. The Science-Link website therefore serves as a forum and channel for collaboration.

This project is still in its infancy, but promises to be an innovative and pioneering effort in using Internet technologies to the benefit of science. It deserves further support, so please visit their website and consider how you could make a contribution.
