EarthAction is the originator of INforEEP's resources on desertification. The Cape Town based Environmental Monitoring Group is South Africa's representative / partner within the network.

EarthAction consists of over 1,800 citizen groups in 144 countries. Their purpose is to enable thousands of organizations, citizens, journalists and parliamentarians to act together simultaneously around the world on critical global issues. EarthAction produces an Action Kit eight to twelve times a year which is distributed to their partner organizations for use in mobilizing their members to take action on important global issues. On many issues, EarthAction produces materials for journalists, and a Parliamentary alert to help members of parliament question their government on the issue.
