Mesophyllum funafutiense is a beautiful example of a leafy species. It occurs in most reef zones on Indo-Pacific coral reefs. Although it is not always leafy, it is easily recognised by its very glossy thallus and large, dome-shaped tetrasporangial conceptacles with black pores that are visible under a dissection microscope. |
